Karen Haake, LMHC, NCC
Experience: I am a licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor with a Master’s of Arts in Counseling and am a National Certified Counselor. I have over twenty-five years’ experience working with children, adolescents, teens and their families. I was a teacher for over twelve years and later a school guidance counselor.
Specialties: I work with children and teens on the Autism Spectrum. I also work with the geriatric population. As well as any clients who are experiencing depression, PTSD, anxiety, or anger management struggles.
Approach to therapy: I know that Cognitive Behavioral Therapy helps people change the thoughts that often create anxiety, depression, hopelessness, anger, and other dysfunctions. A change in our thinking can reset the wiring in the brain, increasing overall functioning.
Personal interests: Reading, exercising, gardening, and being with my family and friends.
